The technology revolution is beginning to have a transformational impact on teaching and learning in our schools and universities. The recent launch of MOOCs by several prestigious universities and consortia has made global access to quality education possible. This has had a cascading effect on many universities that are stepping up efforts like never before to implement technology-enhanced learning and instructional systems. This “rush”, however, raises many questions: What is the potential of these emerging technologies? Can these innovations be scaled up in terms of quality, quantity and over all educational areas? Are these innovations sustainable? And finally, is the learning engaging and meaningful?

This symposium will bring together various stakeholders from institutions of higher education in order to closely examine some key aspects of technology-enhanced learning such as impact on the learners and teachers, sustainability and scalability. Participants will endeavor to establish an understanding of where we are now, what the main issues are, and how technology and pedagogy will co-influence each other in the immediate future.
