Synopsis

Welcome to Wikispace for Collaborative Work.

Synopsis: Wikispaces is  a  server software that allows  users to freely  co-author and edit Web page content using any Web browser. Wikispaces supports  hyperlinks and has a simple text syntax for creating new pages and crosslinks between internal pages on the fly. Wiki spaces is   unique  among group communication mechanisms in that it allows the organization of contributions to be edited in addition to the content itself. Like many simple concepts, "open editing" has some profound and subtle effects on Wikispaces  which allows  students to create and edit any page in a Web site  . It  is   an exciting  tool as it encourages democratic use of the Web and promotes content composition by non tech-savvy  users.

In this workshop you will learn the ins and outs of using the online Wikispace tools to publish your materials either alone or as a group (but dispersed). You can now asssemble a team of content producers, writer and proof reader and instantly work together remotely. There is no need to worry about having adequate Web authoring skills because Wikispaces is intuitive and easy to use.

There is much to gain from Wikispace as a Web-based publishing tool because of divison of labour, shared responsibility, joint ownership, peer reviewed content of published content.

With Wikispaces wealth of online word formatting and other coding tools for embedding rich content such as dynamic visuals, Webpages can be completed in a shorter time, provided the tasks for each member of the team is coordinated.
