Welcome to Intermediate Flash Animation and Interactivity. This workshop builds upon your knowledge of Flash acquired in Basic Flash Animation and Interactivity. The latest version of Flash is "Flash MX 2004"; with added features and functionalities. If you know already know version 5 or MX, you will have little difficulties using version MX 2004.

In this workshop, we go deeper into the functionalities of Flash that can provide us more than just linear-type animations; like what you are already doing at the main timeline. With the use of Flash embedded scripting language Actionscript, you can program your movie to react to events such as button and key presses, user-initated choices, random chances. and so on.

The focus of the workshop is to convey some instructional affordances of Flash-based media for use within Macromedia Breeze, Macromedia Dreamweaver or the IVLE, i.e. by putting your Flash swf files into the multimedia bin they can be accessed and reused in the "in-line editors" of the some IVLE tools.

Before you proceed further please right-click here and click "Save Target As.." to download an MS document that contains actionscripts that are used in this tutorial. Keep the MS Word open at all times during practice as you will need to refer to it from time to time.
